Maximino pregunta (en inglés) – Excuse me. In the Leccion 6 Level Basic, (There is and There are) the translation in Spanish is "ahí" ( adverb- There), not"Hay". What in Spanish is verb "Haber" (have)?
Janet responde – La palabra “there” sola significa “ahí” pero la combinación de “there is” y “there are” significa “hay”.
The book is there. (El libro está ahí.)
There is a chair in the room. (Hay una silla en el cuarto.)
There are chairs in the room. (Hay sillas en el cuarto.)
